HOW TO: TRANSITIONAL DRESSING

As September rolls to an end we give a longing goodbye to those long summer evenings and an un-warm welcome to Autumn.
As the days get shorter each morning faces us with a new challenge of what to wear. The day may start out dreary and grey but come the lunchtime heatwave you're regretting that chunky knit you decided on.

We've rounded up some of our key pieces to take you through the transitional weeks into Autumn. It's all about the right materials, prints and accessories to get you through and keep you looking chic.

Pearls Forever

Summer may be coming to an end, but we're clutching at our pearls (literally) not quite ready to give up the pieces we accumulated over the summer season. Keep your pearls season-appropriate by teaming them with an oversized silk shirt or a boyfriend blazer. Think gold tones and accents to carry your pearl pieces over to the following season with ease.

Midi Skirts

What do you mean you didn't purchase a midi skirt this summer, well luckily it's still not too late! The summer staple seen all over your fave Instagram's has taken place over it's shorter counterpart becoming a firm staple in our wardrobes. Luckily for us, this summer staple can be styled and worn way into the Autumn months. Simply swap your usual strapped sandal for a pair of ankle boots for maximum warm and style.
Get the insta-look by finishing off your midi skirt with lashings and layers of necklaces and a stack of rings.

Polo necks are your friend

Invested in an one-too-many floral printed and strappy dresses this summer? Fear not, continue wearing your summer investment way into Autumn by layering your favourite slip over a simple polo neck. Let your clothes do all the hard work, think a simple white turtle neck under a printed dress for a chic yet warm work wear look and a long sleeve cashmere knit under a silk slip for the evening.

Take your look one step further by layering statement chunky earrings or a choker over the top of the high neck to elevate your look.
