August 08, 2013

From a pre-holiday tan to chip free nails, Sarah Jossel, Junior Beauty Writer at Glamour magazine reveals her top secrets and cosmetic must haves to be an ultimate beach beauty this summer. When I caught up with Sarah her expert advice left me with a new beach bag full of the right stuff.

Maryam: What are your top beauty tips to prepare yourself for the beach?

SJ: Preparation is key Go with a glow, A pre holiday tan is top of the list, and my fail-safe tan man is James Harknett at the W Hotel in London. Beach hair looks so effortlessly chic, so for guaranteed smooth and easy-to-manage hair on the beach, I have the Keratin treatment at Compton Salon that leaves my hair feeling great. And lastly my nails need to be healthy and chip free I love CND Vinylux it’s a guaranteed seven day manicure that you are able to remove yourself.

Maryam: Where will you be going this summer and what beauty essentials will be in your beach bag?

SJ: I'm off to Ibiza but trying to pack light, (which is proving difficult for a girl in beauty!) My mini size travel essentials that I cannot live without are Bioderma h2o Crealine. Batiste dry shampoo for clean fresh hair in an instant, Goldfaden MD sun visor for a fast absorbing oil free sunscreen and La Roche Posay thermal spring water as a cool antioxidant.

Maryam: Which minimal makeup essentials can’t you live without?

SJ: My minimal makeup essentials for a naturally flawless beach finish are Nars pressed powder in Heat, Max Factor clump defy mascara and Tom Ford Lipstick in Blush Nude.

Maryam: How do you like to accessories on your summer holidays?

I don't wear a lot of makeup and my holiday hair motto is 'the less the better.' So I love to switch it up with jewellery. I recently went to India where I bought a load of market jewellery. I like mixing it up with different culture infusions for an effectively chic look.

What are your favourite pieces from our collection and how would you wear it?I am a big fan of the Carrissa ring, one ring that I can put with almost everything. It is such a summer statement. I also love layering on some eye catching arm candy I teamed up the Adelle and Jamie bracelet because they look so good together I am a big fan of vibrant colour and layering of bracelets it just look effortlessly great on the beach.

Seen here wearing Silver Carissa Ring and Jamie Wrap Bracelet, and Joelle Bracelet.
